Notes to Protect
This blog is a labour of love, and it will always be free. Thousands of people read every post which is incredible. And if just 100 people donate €2 it means that I’ll be able to continue doing all of this for another year. So if you like the work, it would mean the world to me if you considered making a donation. Thank you to everyone who already has this year. There’s no expectations, as ever, and I hope you have a lovely week. Donate here
There is also now a Thoughts Too Loud Podcast!
A Christian woman makes a video suggesting I have low T, whatever that means.
That I am pseudo poetic, have abandoned my genetic instinct to protect, and then another person comments saying a poem helped her step back from the edge, saved her life.
And that made me cry.
Then a message from some guy recommending again that I take my own life.
And another man texts to say that all of it helped him to realise he’d never connected to his emotional self and now how his life has sprung like a well,
The hues of great depth filling in the blanks that were left by rigid minds screaming to stay in between the prescribed lines. Waves of life crashing down to erase all the lies told to control us, to cage us
To perceive every strangeness as dangerous,
to see every difference as other,
to only see sameness as brother and sister.
There’s no vision in that picture.
Because through fear comes hate and through hate comes justifying why you feel it’s okay to discriminate against entire groups due to the actions of individuals. Because the crossover between people who hold these views and those who say things like ‘Not All Men’ in order to deflect is evident. It’s not all men, and it’s not all immigrants, and you know that, too. I know you do.
And the world becomes as small as the mind that perceives it.
So you can say what you like about my testosterone levels (despite this being a very alarming thing to obsess over), and manhood, or lack thereof,
I look forward to the sequel.
Whatever happens I’ll be here, doing what I can, with what I have,
to protect all peoples from evil.
