Mo’ Poems Movember
Mo’ Poems Movember
This blog is a labour of love, and it will always be free. Over 1,000 people read every post which is incredible. And if just 100 people donate €2 it means that I’ll be able to continue doing all of this for another year. So if you like the work, it would mean the world to me if you considered making a donation. Thank you to everyone who already has this year. There’s no expectations, as ever, and I hope you have a lovely week. Donate here
There is also now a Thoughts Too Loud Podcast!
Movember stars on Friday so for the next four week this space will look a little different.
I initially but a call out for 30 people to write a poem each, with the intention of publishing these across social media each day, 1 poem a day. These poems will explore themes relating to issues faced by men.
I didn’t expect to convince these people easily, but that response has been incredible. We now have over 40 people signed up, which means we’ll have to restructure how we post, but that’s a good problem to have. I’m excited to see how this project will be received.
So the blog each week in November will feature the poems submitted, which means you’ll get at least 7 poems every Sunday to read, which is lovely. And maybe this will become an annual thing. Maybe it’ll grow legs and becoming something else entirely. Who knows. I just hope that it’ll spark some conversations arounds men’s mental health in particular.
So you won’t be seeing a lot of me on socials in November either – with most of my posts being reserved for these lovely poems. And hey, a break might be nice. Absence makes the heart grown fonder and all that.
Keep an eye out across the month. I’m really excited for it. We have some incredible pieces by some wonderful people lined up.
On a smaller note, we reached 10k followers on IG this week. And while followers shouldn’t define our value, I am greateful that so many people want to listen to me ramble on about mental health. It means a lot, so thank you.
Let’s get poetic!
