Mental Health Media Award
Mental Health Media Award
This blog is a labour of love, and it will always be free. Over 1,000 people read every post which is incredible. And if just 100 people donate €2 it means that I’ll be able to continue doing all of this for another year. So if you like the work, it would mean the world to me if you considered making a donation. Thank you to everyone who already has this year. There’s no expectations, as ever, and I hope you have a lovely week. Donate here
There is also now a Thoughts Too Loud Podcast!
As you might already know, because I lambasted the internet with the news – I have been longlisted for the Shine Audience Choice Award!
This is completely unexpected, and I’m deeply grateful to the core of my bones. In the past I’ve been in awe of the work put forward for these awards – because in our country there are are a lot of incredible people going out of their way to do vastly important work for mental health.
To be among them is an honour. To be specific, it’s the TEDx Talk I did last year on how we can use creativity to manage our wellbeing that’s been nominated. It’s a piece of work I still can’t believe I got the opportunity to do – so it’s such a bonus for it to be nominated.
Now, I don’t do this work for awards. It’s not about that, it’s about helping people, and honestly, helping myself. But having said that, it is quite nice to get some recognition. I’ve been doing this for ten years now, and sometimes it feels like it’s not having impact. So recognition at key moments is important, and I appreciate it greatly.
This isn’t the usual post, I know. It’s more of a pitch, and part of me feels gross for doing it. But if you are a regular reader of this blog, and you want to help me out, I’d appreciate you voting. You can do so here. I’ll get back to the raw conversation next week, I promise. But I’m buzzing right now, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t.
