Mo’ Poems Week 1
Mo’ Poems Week 1
This blog is a labour of love, and it will always be free. Over 1,000 people read every post which is incredible. And if just 100 people donate €2 it means that I’ll be able to continue doing all of this for another year. So if you like the work, it would mean the world to me if you considered making a donation. Thank you to everyone who already has this year. There’s no expectations, as ever, and I hope you have a lovely week. Donate here
There is also now a Thoughts Too Loud Podcast!
Movember has kicked off and so too has the poetry! This week was naturally a short week, with only 3 days before this post, but the rest of the month’s blog posts will be packed with poems!
That said, the first three poems were absolutely incredible and I was delighted that these three writers donated their work for this fundraiser.
Take a read through and enjoy – we’ll see ye next week! If you want to donate to the fundraiser, you can do here.
Mo’ Poem #1: Seán Watmore
Worried Black and Blue
Worried what I think
Worried what I do
Worried about just worrying
About what probably won’t come true
Worried that I am
Worried that I’m not
Worried for the sake of it
I do that one quite a lot
Worried before the worry starts
Worried black and blue
Worried about just worrying
About what probably won’t come true
Mo’ Poem #2: Jamie Mooney AKA The Wandering Paddy
Jamie’s poem was actually a video poem, which was incredible, and can be viewed here.
Mo’ Poem #3: Kate Durrant
Early Frost
I see a lonely daffodil
It’s beautiful, yet has no idea how beautiful it is
But it’s out too soon,
And I know
That the early frost will kill it.
I see a lonely boy
He’s beautiful too, yet has no idea how beautiful he is either
And I can’t help but wonder
What the early frost
Will do to him too.
